Utah state park Dead Horse Point is a must! There is no way to get tired with the engarved landscape. Canyonlands National Park / Island in the sky was a bit spoiled by fires in Utah. I have seen this earlier in clear weather and know that something was missed. But in full drive heading to Needles was one of the high points I was expecting. True western scenery. One can stand between the mesas and never get tired with the visual fireworks. AND: the best meal in 4 weeks' travel was served in the Needles Outpost. Wonderful people in their solar powered grocery/bar/camping headquarters.
