From Mexican Hat you have a short drive to Monument Valley. If overnighting there, make an early start to see the Valley in morning light. See by yourself the straight stretch where Forrest Gump was running. If you are full of towering rocks (why?) take a few hundred kilometers to Grand Canyon and see "potholes".
